Work is apparently set to recommence on a 250-meter-high residential
building in New York dubbed the "Jenga Building". Designed by acclaimed
architects Herzog & de Meuron,
the impressive 60-strorey building will be located at 56 Leonard Street
and will cost a reported $600 million USD. Work was originally stopped
back in 2008 as the recession hit the developers (Alexico Group) hard
and they couldn't scrape together the finances. In the original plans
there was also going to be a stainless-steel bean shaped Anish Kapoor
sculpture on the outside ground floor, positioned to look as though it
were propping up the whole building. It has not been confirmed that this
sculpture will still be part of the structure. - found on HUH
